Marketing is vitally important to all businesses providing the insight to develop and deliver new products and services to meet ever-changing customer needs. It is the process of researching, developing, promoting and distributing, products or services through effective channels to engage with a range of target audiences.
A Marketing Executive will help shape, support and deliver marketing plans. Typical responsibilities include:
• Managing and maintaining key marketing channels, including digital, offline and social media
• Planning and delivering tactical integrated marketing campaigns
• Managing the production and distribution of marketing materials
• Liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers (incl. agencies) and partner organisations
• Collecting and analysing research information to understand target audience behaviour and views across the market in general and the marketing mix
• Assisting in the achievement of brand positioning to agreed guidelines
• Organising and attending events such as conferences, seminars, receptions and exhibitions.

Award
Level 4 Marketing Executive Apprenticeship award. For those who successfully complete one optional Expert Module, they will also achieve one of the following certifications (depending on which Expert Module is completed); Google Ads or Google Analytics. All Expert Modules are instructor led with an exam included free of charge. This apprenticeship is designed to also prepare successful apprentices to meet the requirements for optional registration as an Affiliate Member with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). There may be membership costs associated with this which are not covered within the costs for the apprenticeship programme.

Additional Funding
For all Employers:
  • If apprentice is under the age of 25, Employer may not have to pay Class 1 Employer National Insurance. Full details and criteria are found here. 
  • For apprenticeships starting between 1 August 2024 - 31 July 2025, employer may be eligible for £1,000 if apprentice is aged 16 - 18 years old, OR aged 19 - 24 years old and has either an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan provided by their local authority and / or has been in the care of their local authority. Full details and criteria are found within the ESFA Funding Rules.
  • Some Councils are providing incentive payments to local small employers who recruit and employ young apprentices. To find out more, including eligibility and how to apply for an incentive, please visit Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub (details within the GRANT presentation)
    • Lancashire County Council incentive is £3,000 for 100 Lancashire employers
    • Chorley Council incentive is £1,500 for Chorley employers
    • Fylde Borough Council incentive is £5,000 for Fylde employers recruiting a new apprentice who is a Fylde resident.

Key Learning Requirements
Apprenticeships require learners to achieve specific new knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs), which are detailed in the Apprenticeship Standard. These are achieved by;
1) Programme Teaching; via online 2-day sessions every 6-8 weeks. If completing an optional Expert Module (from a choice), this consists of instructor led sessions/masterclasses and an exam. This is additional learning and would be included in to the learner’s personalised apprenticeship training plan. On successful completion of the exam, the learner will receive a ceritification (for example Google Analytics). If completing optional Be-Spoke Module/s, there will be additional learning time required which the education provider will discuss with you at application.
2) Independent study; such as assignment/project research and write up
3) Learning in the workplace; shadowing colleagues, completing programme assigned work based projects, day-to-day development within your current role duties/work activities, reflections with mentor, relevant training sessions.
Modules
This programme has fixed module delivery, consisting of 'Core Modules' and 'Essential Modules'. Therefore, you are unable to choose the mandatory modules studied for this apprenticeship. Baltic Apprenticeships offer access to additional modules to help enhance and personalise learning, which helps meet individual development needs of both the apprentice and the organisation. This is offered through their 'Be-Spoke' route, with various 'Expert Modules' and 'Be-Spoke Modules' to choose from per programme. Any Expert or Be-Spoke modules chosen will be in addition to the mandatory Core and Essential modules. A list of modules is available in the programme guide within the resources section.
Placements
This programme does not require external placements to be completed, although varied experiences are beneficial.
Assessments
Apprentices will be assessed throughout the programme by assignments, observations/evaluations and End Point Assessment.
Key Candidate Entry Requirements
• Employed minimum 30 hours a week in a suitable role for the duration of the apprenticeship. The apprenticeship duration may be extended to support staff who work less than this (will be looked at on individual basis).
• Preferably, certificate/s to evidence both Maths and English either GCSE C/4 or higher, Functional Skills Level 2 from an Ofqual approved examining organisation, or acceptable alternative (List of acceptable options here). If the candidate does not have evidence of Maths and English at the relevant level, there are two options; 1. via NHSE funded online revision and exams. 2. Or, Training Provider will support the learner through the relevant learning and exams, alongside their apprenticeship. An initial diagnostic assessment will be completed by the Training Provider at application stage to determine suitability for this option.
