GP Practice Finance – Good Financial Practice in a Changing World (Non-Clinical)

- Supporting informed financial decision-making within General Practice
- Getting Control of Your Finances: Participants will gain a clearer understanding of practice finances, including financial reporting, income streams, expenditure management and key financial indicators. The session will provide practical approaches to improving financial oversight and ensuring greater control of practice resources.
- What Does a Profitable General Practice Look Like? This section explores the characteristics of financially successful GP practices and examines the factors that contribute to sustainable profitability. Participants will learn how to identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies that support long-term financial resilience.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Effective financial planning is essential in an evolving healthcare environment. This session will cover the principles of budgeting and forecasting, enabling participants to plan confidently for future income, expenditure and workforce requirements while managing financial risks and uncertainties.
- PCSE and NHS Pensions: Participants will receive an overview of Primary Care Support England (PCSE) processes and their financial implications for practices, alongside key information relating to NHS Pension Scheme responsibilities, administration and common issues that practices need to be aware of.
- Financial Management in a Changing World: The course will consider the current challenges and opportunities facing General Practice finances, helping attendees understand how to adapt financial strategies to support sustainable and effective service delivery.
