AI Adoption, Procurement and Governance (Unit)
This unit is designed for managers and senior leaders responsible for selecting, procuring and governing Artificial Intelligence within their organisation. It equips organisations to make informed AI investment decisions, evaluate suppliers, establish governance frameworks and ensure AI systems are implemented responsibly.
The learning is suitable for organisations beginning their AI journey as well as those expanding existing AI initiatives.

Programme Cost
£750
Funding options for the cost (rate) of an apprenticeship unit are:
- 100% government funding for non-levy paying employers (most SMEs)
- 100% employer levy funding for levy-paying employers that have sufficient levy
- 100% government funding for levy-paying employers with insufficient levy if the employee is aged 19 - 24 when the unit commences
- 75% government funding for levy-paying employers with insufficient levy if the employee is aged 25 or over when the unit commences. The remaining 25% must be paid by the employer - the education provider is to liaise with the employer directly regarding the payment of this.
Funding must be in-place and correctly set-up between the employer's DAS account and education provider's DAS account prior to the apprenticeship unit commencing. The employee must be aged 19 or older. Unfortunately, certain senior shareholders (such as GP partners) are not eligible for this funding. More information and eligibility are found in the relevant government's apprenticeship unit funding rules. Learners will be assessed during their taught sessions only (such as through scenario-based tasks, governance design exercises and risk and compliance workshops)
Key Candidate Entry Requirements
- Must be aged 19 or older when the unit commences
Key Employer Entry Requirements
- Ensure learner has the support and opportunities to achieve the requirements of the unit
- Named manager/mentor to support the learner (this cannot be the learner themselves)
