Financial wellbeing

NHSE: We recognise that this is a difficult time for our NHS people and we know that financial concerns have consistently been in the top five reasons our people call the free support helpline run by the Samaritans.

We’ve been working with the MoneyHelper Service (formerly the Money and Pensions Service or Money Advice Service), an organisation who work to improve peoples financial wellbeing across the UK, to provide you with free, independent support. Based on calls to our support lines, we’ve picked out some of the top tools and resources to help you.

NHS people can call this support line, provided by the MoneyHelper Service, for free and impartial money guidance.
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.

WhatsApp

Add +44 7701 342 744 to your WhatsApp and send the MoneyHelper Service’s national support team a message for help with sorting out your debts, credit questions and pensions guidance.

Webchat

Chat to one of the MoneyHelper Service team via their online portal.

Supporting staff with the rising cost of living - good employment practice

To support local employers, NHS Employers developed a  page which draws together important resources and good employer practice with examples from across the NHS.

Supporting staff to help money go further

NHS England’s recognition and reward team have launched a dedicated online hub on Future NHS to provide a space where employers can share ideas and collaborate. It brings together information, ideas and key links, as well as examples of what is already being done locally. The hub includes a template guide which an employer can use to develop their local support offer for staff. If you have any resources or good practice examples to share please email them to [email protected].
