West Lancashire
West Lancashire Primary Care Training Hub works with and on behalf of the 15 practices within the West Lancashire ICB footprint, which covers Northern Parishes, Ormskirk and Skelmersdale PCNs.
We work in close cooperation with the Lancashire and South Cumbria Training Hub central team as well as the other locality teams in the region to deliver locally and regionally commissioned educational and development programmes. Training
The ICB NMP Leads and L&SC PCTH are pleased to share with you a 12-month Education and Training programme.
The programme is to support Non-Medical Prescribers in key topic/therapeutic areas and encourage peer discussions and networking.
The bite-sized education and training sessions will be held for 30 minutes via Microsoft Teams every third Tuesday of the month between 12:15pm and 12.45pm.

Independent Prescribing – Lancashire and South Cumbria Training Hub

11th June 2026, 9.30am – 3.30pm (Preston):
The day will consist of delivery by one of our supertrainers. This session is for delegates new to Ring Pessary and will include theory and practical on a gynae dummy. Click here to book.

This 30 minute training session is hosted by Joan Millar from Astrazeneca and covers; Prostate Cancer and LHRHa overview, Implant Demonstration – using a ‘dummy tummy’, considerations and questions. Click here to book.
19th May 2026: 12.30pm – 1.30pm (online):
This FeNO masterclass is designed for all healthcare providers who are performing and interpreting FeNO for the diagnosis and management of patients with asthma. This session is suitable for those who are new to FeNO testing or as a refresher to update current knowledge. Click here to book.
Funding
Funding is available for staff in West Lancashire who are looking to do their Non-Medical Prescribing. For more information, please visit our Independent Prescribing page. If you would like to register your interest please complete the Expression of Interest for West Lancashire.
Funding for Liverpool University’s 2-day Cytology Programme is available to Practice Nurses, Nursing Associates & Physician Associates working in Primary Care in Lancashire and South Cumbria. Apply for a professional development or student grant with RCN Foundation. Grants are currently open until 5pm on 13th May 2026.
