Central Lancashire
Central Lancashire Training Hub supports and works alongside the 53 practices based in our region which covers the Preston, Chorley and South Ribble area. In addition, to supporting the individual practices in our area, we work closely with the Lancashire & South Cumbria Training Hub team as well as neighbouring localities. The combined teamwork across all regions enables us to facilitate educational and development programmes.

Training
CPD opportunities are available to the following roles working in Primary Care within the Central Lancashire locality: Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Dieticians, Extended Role Practice Nurses, Nursing Associates (qualified), Nurse Dispensers, Nurse Partners, Nurse Specialists, Occupational Therapists, Paramedics, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists & Practice Nurses.
Please note, we are currently awaiting confirmation regarding 24-25 funding.

Individual CPD funding: In addition to training commissioned at scale, we also offer individual CPD funding to the above professionals. This can be used to contribute or fully fund a course of your choice as long as it has been approved by your practice. Events
Nurses and AHPs in Central Lancashire and surrounding localities are invited to the University of Central Lancashire to attend our annual conference on the 2nd July 2024.

The Training Hub are hosting their next Nurse forum on Wednesday 4th September 2024 12-13:30 via Microsoft Teams.
Topics covered: Diabetes UK, Infection control ICB update, Long COVID, Role of MHP in Primary Care. The forum will also include locality breakout sessions for area specific updates.

The L&SC Training Hub offer clinical skills workshops available to clinical staff and students.
There will be opportunities to practice the following: blood pressure, injection technique, pulse oximeter training, venepuncture, peak flow / inhaler techniques & smear taking.
