Chartered Manager (Level 6)
A Chartered Manager is someone who can take responsibility for people, projects, operations and/or services to deliver long term organisational success, with the professional recognition of their ability to deliver impact, behave ethically and demonstrate their commitment to continual learning and development. Specific job roles may include: Manager; Senior Manager; Head of Department; Operations Manager; or anyone with significant management responsibilities. Professional managers are capable of managing complexity and delivering impact at a strategic and/or operational level with management and leadership responsibility for setting and delivering organisational objectives through a wide range of functions.

Most Suitable For
New recruits and current staff with clinical or non-clinical managerial responsibilities who wish to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours in management.
Award
Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship award and BA (Hons) Applied Management degree. Successful apprentices can also apply for professional status as a manager with the CMI or ILM on completion.
Programme Cost
£22,000.

Additional Funding
- If apprentice is under the age of 25, Employer may not have to pay Class 1 Employer National Insurance. Full details and criteria are found here.
- For apprenticeships starting between 1 August 2024 - 31 July 2026, employer may be eligible for £1,000 if apprentice is aged 16 - 18 years old (or 15 years of age if the apprentice’s 16th birthday is between the last Friday of June and 31 August); or aged between 19 and 24 years old and has either an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan provided by their local authority and / or has been, or are, in the care of their local authority. - Lancashire County Council incentive is £3,000 for 100 Lancashire employers
- Chorley Council incentive is £1,500 for Chorley employers
- Fylde Borough Council incentive is £5,000 for Fylde employers recruiting a new apprentice who is a Fylde resident.

Teaching Delivery
On campus (Ambleside or Carlisle) with some online teaching and resources
Key Learning Requirements
Apprenticeships require learners to achieve specific new knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs). For this programme, a minimum of 20% of the learner’s normal working hours must be dedicated to meeting these. This is achieved by;
1) Programme Teaching; on campus teaching once a week over 24 weeks of the year, plus online resources and tasks.
2) Independent study; such as assignment/project research and write up
3) Learning in the workplace; shadowing colleagues, completing programme assigned work based projects, day-to-day development within your current role duties/work activities, reflections with mentor, relevant training sessions.
Modules
This programme generally has fixed module delivery, however, a number of optional modules have been developed to provide specialist knowledge and enhance employability. Optional modules are available subject to demand and the programme lead or personal tutor will be able to advise on the best options to suit the job role. The link tutor will also discuss the options with your line manager to ensure that you are able to meet the requirements of the module in terms of the assessment. Placements
This programme does not require external placements to be completed, although varied experiences are beneficial.
Assessments
Assessed throughout the programme by assignments, observations, evaluations and End Point Assessment.
Key Candidate Entry Requirements
• Employed minimum 30 hours a week in a suitable role for the duration of the apprenticeship. The apprenticeship duration may be extended to support staff who work less than this (will be looked at on individual basis)
• Evidence of study at A-Levels or related Level 3 qualifications
• Preferably, evidence of English and Maths at GCSE C/4 or above / Functional Skills Level 2 / Equivalent. If the candidate does not have evidence of Maths and English at the relevant level, there are two options; 1. via NHSE funded online revision and exams OR 2. The Education Provider will support the learner through the relevant learning and exams, alongside their apprenticeship. An initial diagnostic assessment will be completed by the Education Provider at application stage to determine suitability for this option.

Pathway
On successful completion of this apprenticeship, an example of further apprenticeship options include; Senior Leader. The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) has an interactive
occupational maps tool which shows the variety of progression pathways using apprenticeships.
Career progression does not have to be linear. Entry criteria may differ per provider and even more varied routes may be available depending on the individuals prior learning and experience.
