Improving the Quality of Your Referral
This course aims to support healthcare professionals in making clinically appropriate suspected cancer referrals and preparing patients. You will be presented with specialist discussions alongside examples of patient communication and a range of activities to reinforce learning points.

Assisting someone to quit smoking is a life saving intervention. Very Brief Advice on Smoking (VBA+) is designed to promote quitting and can be delivered in almost any situation with a person who smokes in less than 30 seconds. This 30 minute module will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed so that you can feel confident in delivering VBA+.

GatewayC is an online educational platform for UK primary care professionals (like GPs) to help them improve early cancer diagnosis.
Access is free (funded by LSC Cancer Alliance) for all primary care staff within Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Urgent Suspected Cancer (USC) referral
Cancer Research UK provide a useful interactive PDF guiding you through the referral guidance for different symptom presentations.
Cancer Maps are a valuable in-clinic tool developed by Dr Ben Noble and Patrick Noble. They help GPs recognise symptoms fast, so they can refer patients earlier.
