More Than an Art Group: The Relationship Between Creative Health and Social Prescribing
The UK has had a strong arts and health sector for many years, including a range of arts on prescription schemes across the country. Since the release in 2017 of Creative Health: The Arts for Health and Wellbeing there has been increasing national and local focus on how creative health can support individuals and local populations, from universal prevention and early intervention through to more targeted approaches for people with complex needs.
This webinar will explore the relationship of creative health and social prescribing, and what it means in practice for social prescribing link workers and those developing social prescribing programmes. It will also be of interest to creative health practitioners and to arts organisations working in a creative health context
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the relationship between social prescribing and creative health and what this means in practice for SPLWs
- Hear the perspective of people with lived experience in relation to creative health based social prescribing
- Learn how creative health based social prescribing can help address health inequalities across the life course
- Learn about a range of creative health practice, including creative health based social prescriptions to support self-management of long-term conditions
