Embedding public health into clinical services e-learning programme now live

Health Education England e-Learning for Healthcare has worked in partnership with Public Health England and NHS England and NHS Improvement to develop an e-learning programme to help embed public health in clinical services.

There has been a growing interest in public health by health and care professionals, and the policy framework is placing increasing priority on prevention, NHS services have traditionally been established to provide specialist treatment rather than prevention. 

This e-learning programme is intended to support leaders and service managers to guide their teams through the process of re-designing services to support prevention.

Designed as a 5-step process, the programme provides a practical toolkit of useful resources to help individuals and multidisciplinary teams identify their unique contribution to implement quality improvement initiatives to transform services. 

The e-learning content is pragmatic and iterative, recognising the competing pressures on front line teams.  The tools and resources highlighted can be useful in more than one stage of the 5-step process and will be inter-dependent with wider improvement initiatives.
