SLICE – LD (Learning Disability)
Humber and North Yorkshire Learning Environments Assessments and Placements (LEAP) are launching SLICE (Student Led Integrated Care Environment) – Learning Disability.
In this session Gemma Hodge and Dr Debbie Cross will reflect on the experience of implementing a model of supervision which aims to expand practice for 3rd year Learning Disability (LD) student nurses by delivering Annual Health Checks in primary care.
The main aims were to:
- Increase confidence, and self-efficacy in preparing students and practice assessors for utilising a long arm approach to supervision.
- Create autonomous practice.
- Integrate the scope of LD specialism within primary care.
