Phlebotomy/Venepuncture Training – Irwell

The aim of this phlebotomy training course is to teach learners how to safely take blood samples for tests or donation, while keeping patients comfortable and following UK health and safety guidelines. The training is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.

Course Summary

This phlebotomy course is designed to teach you the skills and knowledge you need to succeed as a phlebotomist. You will gain hands-on practice using a lifelike arm simulator to master venepuncture techniques.

The course covers key topics such as anatomy, blood collection methods, patient interaction, safety from bloodborne diseases, and the ethical guidelines you must follow. You will receive a certificate post-training for your attendance.

Please note: This course contains a full practical (face-to-face) session.

Will attending this training make me competent?
In short, no. Caring for Care’s classroom-based assessments are designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace competency. Furthermore, they will provide you with the relevant workbooks and competency proformas to be observed and signed off within the workplace according to your local policy.
Attendance/Cancellation
We allow cancellations up to 7 days prior to the event.

Cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice will be charged retrospectively for fully funded places at the same rate as paid for places, or no refunds will be given for paid places.

All cancellations must be made via your Medtribe account by clicking onto the course. If you are giving more than 7 days’ notice you can click the “cancel” button. If you are providing less than 7 days’ notice you can email us in the “message us” section of that page on Medtribe.

Although we do not allow cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice, you are able to substitute a place. You need to do this in the “message us” section on the cancellation page on Medtribe.

If you have paid for your place you will not receive a refund however your place will not be wasted.

If you are on a fully funded course and can provide a substitution who attends, you will not be charged.
