The aim of this paediatric phlebotomy training course is to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to safely and effectively perform paediatric blood draws. Please note that you must meet the pre-requisites before applying for this course.

Course Summary
This phlebotomy course is designed to teach you the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively perform paediatric phlebotomy. The course covers key topics such as patient consent and interaction, pain relief, blood collection methods and physiological differences across age groups.

Please note: This course contains a full practical (face-to-face) session.

Will attending this training make me competent?

In short, no. The training Caring for Care that provide includes classroom competency sign-off however, you will require ‘workplace competency sign-off,’ after completing the course. Caring for Care will provide you with the relevant workbooks and competency proformas to be observed and signed off within the workplace according to your local policy.
