As a telephonist/switchboard operator, you're usually the first point of contact for anyone who phones a hospital, clinic, health centre or NHS trust. You'll operate switchboard equipment to receive calls and pass them on to the correct person or department. People who call might be anxious or upset so as the telephonist/switchboard operator, you may have to calm them down or reassure them. Some calls are urgent so you may have to contact emergency services or deal with an emergency situation according to the agreed procedures. They make sure our patients have the information they need for their care and our healthcare professionals can access crucial patient records. Records about patients must be kept safely and confidentially. General Practice Assistant
The General Practice Assistant role assists in routine admin tasks and basic clinical duties, such as arranging follow up appointments, managing post / emails, completing paperwork for the GP to approve and sign and helping the GP to liaise with other organisations.- Worked in General Practice and is already considered competent in good patient care
- Be DBS enhanced level checked
- Make a commitment to 6–9-month GPA learning programme (minimum 1 day per week)
- Confirm a dedicated, named GP mentor who can guarantee regular tutorials
Support Secretary-Typist
As a typist, you'll use word processing systems to create a range of documents. These may be reports, letters, case notes, etc. If you work as an audio typist, you'll listen to dictated information dictated and type what you hear, turning it into a well-presented document potential in a variety of formats.- Worked in a Secretary/PA role

Health records make sure that vital patient information is recorded and stored accurately so their frontline colleagues can access it at any time and at any place.- Educated to GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths

Care Coordinator
Care Coordinators provide extra time, capacity, and expertise to support patients in preparing for clinical conversations or in following up discussions with primary care professionals. They work closely with the GPs and other primary care colleagues within the primary care network (PCN) to identify and manage a caseload of identified patients, making sure that appropriate support is made available to them and their carers (if appropriate), and ensuring that their changing needs are addressed.- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Educated to Diploma/ HNC / NVQ 3 level (or relevant experience)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with healthcare professionals in a care related role
