Training: 10 Steps to working with people and communities
Working with people and communities is one of the most important ways we can ensure that the NHS meets the needs of patients and the public. By engaging with people in meaningful discussion of the collective challenges we face, and of how to overcome these, we can tap into the diverse experiences, insights and ideas that patients and the public bring.
By the end of the session you will:
- Better understand what drives participation and where greater understanding can support your work in partnership with people and communities
- Explore good practice, key approaches and engagement tools used to build participation
- Understand participation and engagement in relation to health inequalities and look at strategies to build inclusion of seldom heard communities
- Use real examples to develop an engagement plan applying 10 steps and identifying resources and support available
