DESCRIPTION:Available throughout the year at different locations you will be able to experience a hands on approach with the support of a clinical educator! \nLocation: The Education Room (ground floor)\, Heysham Primary Care Centre\, Middleton Way\, Heysham\, Morecambe LA3 2LE \n\nTopics covered in the sessions are:\n\nVenepuncture\nObtaining a Manual Blood pressure – blood pressure ranges and parameters\nInjection Technique\nCervical Sample Taking\nUsing a Pulse Oximeter\nTaking peak flow readings\nInhaler technique and Urinalysis\n\n\nThe workshops welcome General Practice Nurses\, Health Care Assistants\, Nursing Associates\, Trainee Nursing Associates\, Advanced Nurse Practitioners\, Student Nurses\, Student Nurse Paramedics\, Physician Associates… anyone with a clinical role within Primary Care that is already trained in the topics above. \n\nNew to practice and want to have some hands-on experience with a mannequin to gain skills and confidence or if you are an experienced practitioner and want to refresh your skills then this is the workshop for you!\nWe have equipment available in the workshops to enable you to practice your skills and get hands-on experience with the support of a friendly clinical educator plus a practical handbook to guide you through. \n\n\nPlease note that these workshops are not a formal training session and the purpose is to support delegates in building on knowledge and skills already learnt from previous formal training.\n\nDelegates must join the session from the start time and leave once they feel they have gained enough from the workshop: there is no requirement to stay for the full 3 hours. SUMMARY:Introduction to Immunisation and Vaccinations Training (Foundation)
DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE DAY 1 IS TO COMPLETE ALL ELEARNING ELEMENTS PRIOR TO DAY 2.\nDay 2 will be virtually on MS Teams. \n\n\nThe Immunisation and Vaccination Foundation is a blended learning programme.\nThis training includes NHS Travel Vaccine schedules.\nThis is for those new to providing Immunisation and Vaccinations\nThis course does not cover anaphylaxis or basic life support. This must be completed separately.\n\n\nIn line with the Public Health England (2018) Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training for Registered Healthcare Practitioners\, we have developed a blended approach of both an e-learning and a face-to-face taught course which previously consisted of two full taught days. Those new to immunisation are required to receive comprehensive foundation immunisation training. \n\nThe programme website is:– https://www.e-lfh.org.uk/programmes/immunisation/\nThe programme is free to access just register to use the e-lfh portal.\nDelegates will be expected to complete a questionnaire post-session in order to receive a certificate of completion. \n\nThe course is designed around the updated National Minimum Standards and the competency assessment tool which must be undertaken in clinical practice following completion of the workshop.
