SUMMARY:Understanding Avoidant and Restrictive Food Intake  Disorder (ARFID)
DESCRIPTION:This course is aimed at practitioners working with children of all ages\, including older\nchildren and adolescents\, who have a very restricted diet.\nChildren may refuse foods in an extreme way or may seem uninterested in food and lacking\nappetite. The range of food that they accept may be very restricted and there may be\nconcerns about health and well-being. The child may dislike social situations involving food\nor be uncomfortable with certain smells\, textures or look of foods.\nThe training package is delivered FREE over one day\, delivered remotely for CAMHS and\nVCFSE EHWB practitioners\, and contributes towards CPD with a certificate of attendance\non completion of the day. DESCRIPTION:Available to Social Care staff working within the Lancashire and South Cumbria postcodes only: \nSession Aims: \nThe purpose of this session is to develop the skills and knowledge of HCA’s in the correct use of medication\, how to ensure it is safely managed stored\, administered and recorded effectively. \nLearning Outcomes: \n  \n• How to administer medicines in a systematic way to reduce the risk of errors \n• How to give medicines in a person-centred way \n• Explain why mistakes happen and how to minimise the chances of them occurring \n• How to administer tablets\, liquids\, creams\, inhalers\, patches\, and eye drops \n• How to record when medication is administered to an individual using service specific documentation here possible \n  \nMethod of learning Microsoft Teams 3 hours \nThe training is entirely online learning which is led by a tutor in real time. You will need access to a computer and internet during all the training\, preferably the trainer will need to be able to see and hear from you as the training will be interactive. \nPlease Note \n\nAs spaces are limited\, we request that you register a maximum of 2 staff from each care organisation.\nIf you have any questions regarding this training please email our inbox mbpcc.lscsocialcare@nhs.net\nIf you are no longer able to attend\, please cancel your place via Eventbrite.
