SUMMARY:Group Mentoring for Managers - Cohort 6
DESCRIPTION:As a Manager\, or an Assistant Manager who aspires to become a Practice Manager\, there are times when we need a little extra help. The offer is for group mentorship with a long standing experienced manager and qualified coach. This is a safe and confidential space to bring your thoughts and worries to take part in a facilitated conversation. \n\nEach group of 12 will be offered 4 sessions. Each session is 1 ½ hours in length. After each session they will be sent a write up of the sessions and anything relevant handouts as discussed in the session. If they cannot attend a session they will still get all of the handouts and write ups as they are part of the group. It is an interactive session- they must attend with a working camera and microphone as this is mentorship- so they will be talking and interacting. Everything discussed is confidential within the sessions.\nWe are putting on 4 sessions. You must sign up to all 4 sessions even if unable to attend all – simply select the date from the drop down box.Please do not share this link with anyone as all participants must be approved \n\n\nSESSIONS\n1) Thursday 15th January 11.30am -1.00pm  Juggling time:\nThis session will look at juggling our time to complete everything – delegation and ways to manage time in the management role. Please bring with you your stories and areas that you want to discuss.\n2) Wednesday 28th January 11.30am-1.00pm  Finance:\nThis session works through finance questions that you have – from understanding your GMS statement to how to make the surgery more profitable. Please bring your questions and discussion topics with you.\n3) Thursday 12th February 9.30am -11.00am HR situations for discussion:\nThis session is a safe space to come with all of the questions that you have on HR – from partnership issues to staff disciplinary and grievances. Please bring your questions and discussion topics with you.\n4) Tuesday 24th February 12 noon- 1.30pm   Resilience :\nThis session works through managers trying to remain resilient in challenging times – hints and tips. Please bring your questions and discussion topics with you.\nAlthough the headline subjects are in place- the mentees are able to ask burning questions if they have had a difficult situation that week etc.

SUMMARY:Group Mentoring for Managers Cohort 6
DESCRIPTION:As a Manager\, or an Assistant Manager who aspires to become a Practice Manager\, there are times when we need a little extra help. The offer is for group mentorship with a long standing experienced manager and qualified coach. This is a safe and confidential space to bring your thoughts and worries to take part in a facilitated conversation. \n\nEach group of 12 will be offered 4 sessions. Each session is 1 ½ hours in length. After each session they will be sent a write up of the sessions and anything relevant handouts as discussed in the session. If they cannot attend a session they will still get all of the handouts and write ups as they are part of the group. It is an interactive session- they must attend with a working camera and microphone as this is mentorship- so they will be talking and interacting. Everything discussed is confidential within the sessions.\n\nWe are putting on 4 sessions. You must sign up to all 4 sessions even if unable to attend all – simply select the date from the drop down box. \nPlease do not share this link with anyone as all participants must be approved \n\nSESSIONS\n1) Thursday 15th January 11.30am -1.00pm  Juggling time:\nThis session will look at juggling our time to complete everything – delegation and ways to manage time in the management role. Please bring with you your stories and areas that you want to discuss. \n\n2) Wednesday 28th January 11.30am-1.00pm  Finance:\nThis session works through finance questions that you have – from understanding your GMS statement to how to make the surgery more profitable. Please bring your questions and discussion topics with you. \n\n3) Thursday 12th February 9.30am -11.00am HR situations for discussion:\nThis session is a safe space to come with all of the questions that you have on HR – from partnership issues to staff disciplinary and grievances. Please bring your questions and discussion topics with you. \n\n4) Tuesday 24th February 12 noon- 1.30pm   Resilience :\nThis session works through managers trying to remain resilient in challenging times – hints and tips. DESCRIPTION:Spirometry Skills Practice Workshop for Primary Care staff in Lancashire and South Cumbria \nAvailable throughout the year at Fatima Health Centre\, 228 Garstang Rd\, Fulwood\, Preston PR2 9QB (1st Floor) \nThe session will include verification of the spirometer using a 3 litre syringe and an opportunity to practice performing spirometry with an experienced clinical educator. \n\nThe workshops welcome General Practice Nurses\, Health Care Assistants\, Nursing Associates\, Trainee Nursing Associates\, Advanced Nurse Practitioners\, Student Nurses\, Student Nurse Paramedics\, Physician Associates… anyone with a clinical role within Primary Care that is already trained in spirometry \n\n\nPLEASE BRING A DISPOSIBLE MOUTHPIECE TO THE SESSION \nPart of the training involves active participation including performing spirometry. To take part in this you will need to complete the following consultation form on the day. This must be completed separately.\n\n\nIn line with the Public Health England (2025) Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training for Registered Healthcare Practitioners\, we have developed a blended approach of both an e-learning and a face-to-face taught course which previously consisted of two full taught days. DESCRIPTION:Immunisation and Vaccination Annual Update Training for Primary Care staff within Lancashire and South Cumbria -hosted on MS Teams \n\n\nThe Immunisation and Vaccination Update provides an annual update of current practice in relation to the immunisation schedules in primary care using PHE guidance.\nThis training includes NHS Travel Vaccines given for free under the Crown Scheme and does not include travel vaccines outside this schedule\nThis course is not suitable as foundation training and is only an update and does not cover anaphylaxis or basic life support. This must be completed separately.\nThis course is for Clinical Experienced Vaccinators\, and those who have already been vaccinating and does not include non-clinical Covid only Vaccinators.\n\n\nThe course is designed around the updated National Minimum Standards and the competency assessment tool.\nPlease see the link below for a copy of the competency assessment tool for registered practitioners: Immunisation Knowledge and Skills Competence Assessment Tool|Publications | Royal College of Nursing\nThis is an interactive session and you will be expected to interact. DESCRIPTION:MECC for Physical Activity \n  \nThis course supports individuals to integrate purposeful physical activity conversations into everyday conversations. Making Every Contact Count (MECC) for Physical Activity aims to increase physical activity levels of the wider population. Physical activity can help prevent or reduce health inequalities such as heart disease\, stroke\, and other long-term health conditions in line with the NHS CORE20PLUS5 framework and national Physical Activity Strategy. \n  \nAims of the Course \n  \nThe module supports anyone who is not a physical activity specialist by supplying high quality and evidence based physical activity training that develops knowledge\, skills and confidence to integrate relevant physical activity messages and interventions into everyday conversations. On completion you will have awareness of: \n\n\nThe MECC approach and how this can be applied in your setting.\n\n\n\n\nWhat is meant by physical activity (including awareness of the latest Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines).\n\n\n\n\nHow to deliver healthy lifestyle messages linked to physical activity\, to encourage people to change their behaviour.\n\n\n\n\nWhere suitable resources for signposting can be found.\n\n\n  \nWho is the course aimed at: \n  \nThe course is aimed at anybody interested in looking to support physical activity conversations in the workplace or community. It is particularly useful for workplace health champions\, and those who are responsible for workplace health and wellbeing strategies. No previous knowledge is required in order to obtain the content of this course \n  \n  \nGENERAL INFORMATION \n  \nThe MECC for Physical Activity sessions are delivered free of charge to all participants who are registered via workforcetraining@activelancashire.org.uk and who work for organisations within Lancs & South Cumbria. \n  \nLate Arrival: If you arrive late for a session or you are absent from any session\, we reserve the right to refuse access to the training session if we / trainer feels that you will gain insufficient knowledge or skills in the time remaining. \n  \nNo Show: Candidates who do not turn up to the session / arrive too late to start the session / provide less than 2 days’ notice of cancellation may result in refused access to future training courses that are offered. \n  \nWhere minimum numbers have not been met\, we reserve the right to cancel/postpone courses where necessary. \n  \nCOURSE INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS \n  \n· Course Name: MECC for Physical Activity session via Teams \n· Please check your training records to ensure you have not already attended this session previously \n· Once you have been registered on a specific date and time\, an e-mail will be sent to you to confirm your registration including a specific Teams Link. \n· All places on a session are on a first come/first serve basis
