Each session is 1 ½ hours in length. After each session they will be sent a write up of the sessions and anything relevant handouts as discussed in the session. DESCRIPTION:The aim of this paediatric phlebotomy training course is to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge\, skills\, and confidence to safely and effectively perform paediatric blood draws. Please take a seat here and your trainer will collect you. \n\nCourse Summary\nThis phlebotomy course is designed to teach you the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively perform paediatric phlebotomy. The course covers key topics such as patient consent and interaction\, pain relief\, blood collection methods and physiological differences across age groups.\nPlease note: This course contains a full practical (face-to-face) session.\n\nWill attending this training make me competent?\nIn short\, no. The training Caring for Care that provide includes classroom competency sign-off however\, you will require ‘workplace competency sign-off\,’ after completing the course. Caring for Care will provide you with the relevant workbooks and competency proformas to be observed and signed off within the workplace according to your local policy.\n\n\nAttendance/Cancellation\nWe allow cancellations up to 7 days prior to the event. \nCancellations with less than 7 days’ notice will be charged retrospectively for fully funded places at the same rate as paid for places\, or no refunds will be given for paid places. \nAll cancellations must be made via your Medtribe account by clicking onto the course. DESCRIPTION:There are a number of elearning modules which must be completed prior to attending the online live training session. \nPlease ensure you have blocked some time in your diary to complete this online training. Details of which are below.\n\nThe training will take place on MS Teams. \n\n\nThe Immunisation and Vaccination Foundation is a blended learning programme.\nThis training includes NHS Travel Vaccine schedules.\nThis is for those new to providing Immunisation and Vaccinations\nThis course does not cover anaphylaxis or basic life support. This must be completed separately.\n\n\nIn line with the Public Health England (2018) Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training for Registered Healthcare Practitioners\, we have developed a blended approach of both an e-learning and a face-to-face taught course which previously consisted of two full taught days. Those new to immunisation are required to receive comprehensive foundation immunisation training. \n\nThe programme website is:–https://portal.e-lfh.org.uk/myElearning/Index?HierarchyId=0_39333&programmeId=39333\nThe programme is free to access just register to use the e-lfh portal. \n\n\nImmunology\nVaccine Preventable Disease relevant to your practice: Influenza\, Shingles\, Covid\, Pneumococcal\, Pertussis\, Diphtheria\, Tetanus\, Polio\, HiB\, Meningitis\, Measles\, Mumps and Rubella\, Rotavirus\, Hep B\, RSV (if applicable)\nCommunicating with Patients\, Parents and Carers\nLegal Aspects\nVaccine Storage\nVaccine Administration\n\n\nDelegates will also be expected to complete a questionnaire post-session in order to receive a certificate of completion plus a quiz gaining a mark of over 80%. \nDelegates will require a clinical supervisor in Practice to be able to sign off the competency assessment tool following the course- details of which are below\nto ensure the delivery of the vaccines is safe and effective. \nThe supervisor assessing the practitioner must be a registered healthcare practitioner who is competent and experienced in delivering immunisation programmes.\n\n https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-minimum-standards-and-core-curriculum-for-immunisation-training-for-registered-healthcare-practitioners    (The competency assessment tool can be found within this document page 24-26) \n\nNOTE – for Non Registered Healthcare Professionals – BEFORE BOOKING PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU – have achieved education and training to Level Three of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)4 or equivalent in England and Wales with at least 2 years’ experience as recommended in The National Minimum Standards. DESCRIPTION:MECC for Mental Health \n  \nThis course will provide you with information about how to use the Making Every Contact Count (MECC) approach\, talking about mental health and where to direct people to within those conversations. \n  \nAims of the Course \n  \nOn completion you will understand: \n\n\nHow mental health and wellbeing affect people in every day settings.\n\n\n\n\nHow to feel confident in discussing mental health and wellbeing.\n\n\n\n\nHow to start and have a mental health and wellbeing conversation.\n\n\n\n\nMental health in the workplace.\n\n\n\n\nAvailable mental health and wellbeing support and resources.\n\n\n  \n  \nWho is the course aimed at ? \n  \nThe course is not only aimed at individuals supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing\, but also those whose roles might not traditionally have any mental health training but have the opportunity to discuss mental health and wellbeing. This could include settings such as libraries\, gyms\, charity support services\, hairdressers\, and other public facing settings. The course could also be used in the induction of new staff and volunteers across a variety of workplaces. \n  \nGENERAL INFORMATION \n  \nThe MECC for Mental Health sessions are delivered free of charge to all participants who are registered via workforcetraining@activelancashire.org.uk and who work for organisations within Lancs & S Cumbria. \n  \nLate Arrival: If you arrive late for a session or you are absent from any session\, we reserve the right to refuse access to the training session if we / trainer feels that you will gain insufficient knowledge or skills in the time remaining. \n  \nNo Show: Candidates who do not turn up to the session / arrive too late to start the session / provide less than 2 days’ notice of cancellation may result in refused access to future training courses that are offered. \n  \nWhere minimum numbers have not been met\, we reserve the right to cancel/postpone courses where necessary. \n  \nCOURSE INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS \n  \n· Course Name: MECC for Mental Health on-line session via Teams. \n· Please check your training records to ensure you have not already attended this session previously. \n· Once you have been registered on a specific date and time\, an e-mail will be sent to you to confirm your registration including a specific Teams Link. \n· All places on a session are on a first come/first serve basis
