DESCRIPTION:Workshop Objective \nThis aims to equip operational administrative staff to safely and efficiently take actions where appropriate\, and which may include forwarding correspondence to another member of the team\, or passing letters to a GP for action if a clinical decision is required. It is a more advanced task than document processing or coding alone. \nIt requires support staff to have the requisite skills and confidence to consistently make safe and informed decisions about how to code a letter and its contents in the patient record\, how to use an approved protocol for deciding which letters need to be sent to a GP and with what level of urgency\, and when to ask for help. \n  \nAIM – Level 1 \nBy the end of this workshop delegates will have an overview and a clear understanding of the operational value and importance of “Correspondence Management”. Available throughout the year at different locations you will be able to experience a hands on approach with the support of a clinical educator! \n\nTopics covered in the sessions are: \n\nVenepuncture\nObtaining a Manual Blood pressure\nInjection Technique\nCervical Sample Taking\n\n\nThe workshops welcome General Practice Nurses\, Health Care Assistants\, Nursing Associates\, Trainee Nursing Associates\, Advanced Nurse Practitioners\, Student Nurses\, Student Nurse Paramedics\, Physician Associates… anyone with a clinical role within Primary Care that is already trained in the topics above. \nNew to practice and want to have some hands-on experience with a mannequin to gain skills and confidence or if you are an experienced practitioner and want to refresh your skills then this is the workshop for you! \n\nWe have equipment available in the workshops to enable you to practice your skills and get hands on experience with the support of a friendly clinical educator plus a practical handbook to guide you through. \n– Please note that these workshops are not a formal training session and the purpose is to support delegates in building on knowledge and skills already learnt from previous formal training. \nDelegates must join the session from the start time and leave once they feel they have gained enough from the workshop: there is no requirement to stay for the full 3 hours. In addition\, delegates may attend to access one of the pieces of equipment or all of them! SUMMARY:Correspondence Management Workshop - Level 2
DESCRIPTION:Places are limited . If you cannot attend this training\, please ensure you have cancelled your place so that others can book on. \n  \nWorkshop Objective \nThis aims to equip operational administrative staff to safely and efficiently take actions where appropriate\, and which may include forwarding correspondence to another member of the team\, or passing letters to a GP for action if a clinical decision is required. It is a more advanced task than document processing or coding alone. \nIt requires support staff to have the requisite skills and confidence to consistently make safe and informed decisions about how to code a letter and its contents in the patient record\, how to use an approved protocol for deciding which letters need to be sent to a GP and with what level of urgency\, and when to ask for help. \n  \nAIM – Level 2 \nBy the end of this workshop delegates will have an overview understanding of the Read coding\, and medical terminology needed to enable them to fully contribute to the safe\, practice application of “Correspondence Management”. \nDelegates will also receive a number of standard checklists and templates which they will then be able to adapt for their Practice. \nLevel 2 incorporates an online assessment for each candidate taken in their own time at the practice. \nThe topics that will be covered include; \n\nWelcome\, introductions and objectives\nRead Codes\nPurpose\nDefinition\nStructure\nEpisodicity\nCommon abbreviations\nCodes derived from Secondary Care\nMedical Terminology\nWord structure and building blocks\nMajor body systems and organs\nCommon tests & investigations\nAction Plan\n\n  \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND? \nNon-Clinical Primary Care Staff \n  \nWHAT DO I NEED? \n\nMS TEAMS (join on the app or online)\nPen/Paper\nPreferably a camera and mic to participate\n\n  \nHOW LONG IS THE COURSE? \nFull day (9:30-16:30) Virtual
