DESCRIPTION:Please see the eligibility criteria before booking onto the course \nStrict Eligibility Criteria Please Read \nThis session is only available for prescribers\, those who see menopause patients in Practice and have not received prior menopause training.  Only 2 places are available per practice. \nVenue Education Centre Room 5 Lancaster Royal Infirmary Ashton Rd\, Lancaster LA1 4RR \nParking at the Lancaster Royal Infirmary Education Centre (LA1 4RP) is available in designated pay-and-display areas\, primarily on Ashton Road and in front of Medical Unit 2. Spaces are limited\, so allow extra time.    Parking Charges (Ashton Road/Medical Unit 2) \nUp to 4 hours: £4.50\nKey Information \nPayment: Machines accept coins\, notes\, and card/contactless. You can also pay via the ‘parkgood2go’ system.\nStaff Areas: Visitors must not park in staff-only areas; unauthorised parking may result in fines.\nAlternative: The Lancaster Park and Ride service is recommended to avoid parking issues. \nThe Essentials of Menopause Care course is aimed specifically at those providing Menopause Care in Primary Care settings. It provides an interactive half-day with scenario-based learning\, quizzes\, presentations\, time for discussion and questions. \n\nThis course is relevant for Menopause Care providers needing an introduction and provides a useful update for more experienced staff. Courses are delivered in a variety of locations across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Essentials of Menopause Care is not a competency-based course\, and it is not assessed. \n\nAt the end of the course\, you will be able to: \n\n\nAssess women presenting with perimenopausal/menopausal symptoms\nOutline the non-hormonal management options for these symptoms\nExplain the risks and benefits of HRT\nExplain how to use the different HRT preparations that are available\nExplain the management of genitourinary syndrome of the menopause\nDiscuss the contraceptive needs of perimenopausal women and how these can be met\nDescribe the needs of women who have had premature ovarian insufficiency\n\n\n\nIf you have any additional needs or requirements to attend this session\, please contact us at mbpcc.lscthub@nhs.net
