SUMMARY:Improving the Telephony Journey Webinar
DESCRIPTION:The telephone is still the primary route to access for many patients & accounts for a significant workload in practices\, with high call volumes and resultant pressure on our patient advisers.  This session will look at how we can use our cloud-based telephony systems to understand\, evidence\, quantify and address the challenges of telephone access using practical quality improvement approaches\, to improve the overall experience for staff and patients alike. \nThis session assumes practices are using cloud-based telephony (CBT).  Practices not yet using CBT will still benefit from the approach but may not be able to obtain the full range of information needed to support decisions and action. \nNB The session does not cover the technical details of CBT or criteria for choosing a system in this session; for information on these aspects\, please refer to our guide to improving the telephony journey on Connect – our online space on FutureNHS https://future.nhs.uk/PrimaryCareImprovementCONNECT/view?objectID=178347429. \nLearning outcomes: \nBy the end of the webinar\, participants will be able to: \n\nDescribe the information that can be extracted from cloud-based telephony systems and how that data can be displayed and used to identify and evidence pressure points and priorities;\nUse a systematic approach for tackling some of the common challenges that emerge from the data;\nInterrogate the system and begin to make improvements in their own practice.\n\n\nThe sessions are provided for those in General Practice and Primary Care Networks.\nThe sessions are delivered by experienced Primary Care Transformation Team faculty members\, comprising practice-based clinicians and non-clinicians and improvement experts who have worked extensively with general practice and wider primary care. \nRegistration for each session will close two working days before the webinar or earlier if oversubscribed.  \nEnquiries: england.capabilitypct@nhs.net

SUMMARY:2.5 hour PAM (Patient Activation Measure) Workshop - Virtual
DESCRIPTION:What is Patient Activation? \nIt is widely acknowledged that people who have the knowledge\, skills and confidence to manage their own health tend to have better health outcomes than those who may have a more passive approach. Patients/clients with high levels of activation usually understand their role in the care process and feel capable of fulfilling that role. People who have low levels of activation however are usually less likely to play an active role in staying healthy. They are less good at seeking help when they need it\, at following advice given by healthcare professionals or managing their health when they are no longer being treated. \nThere are twenty places available per each virtual PAM workshop. To apply for a place please fill out this PAM Application form (PAM Training Application Form – Jan 2024) in full and send to: workforcetraining@activelancashire.org.uk Once you have been registered on a PAM Workshop a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you inc your Zoom Link. Once the course has been completed PAM outputs/Flourish Info’s will then be sent to all participants who have completed the course in full. Please note all applications are registered on a first come\, first serve basis. \nSee full info here: PAM-FLYER – JAN 2024 \nThe PAM 2.5 hr workshop is being delivered by Lancashire & South Cumbria ICB & Active Lancashire for the benefit of Lancashire & South Cumbria population\, to assist people to become more active in their own health and care.

DESCRIPTION:The Development\, Change and Transition team are pleased to announce Equality\, Diversity and Inclusion Skill Development Sessions. Following the success of these sessions in the Delivery and Operations directorates\, these sessions are now available to all staff in NHS England. These sessions will increase our confidence in identifying non-inclusive practices and taking steps to create a more inclusive NHS England\, and also help us foster good relations between our colleagues. \n  \nMicroaggressions and allyship \nWhat do we mean by microaggressions and how do they manifest in the workplace? Allyship\, privilege\, what allyship means to different people. This session includes guest speakers from NHS England\, sharing their lived experiences of microaggressions. How can we move from being a bystander to an ally? How do we increase our confidence in speaking up when we witness microaggressions? This session touches specifically on gender\, race and other marginalised communities too. \nFeedback from Previous Participants \n\n“Powerful\, relatable\, personal stories that illustrated microaggressions are even more widespread than I had thought”\n“I liked the phrase in one video in that it is OK to not understand\, but take time to find out.”\n“I learnt a lot about how diverse the LGBTQ+ community is and I found this really reassuring in terms of feeling equipped to think about and talk about this topic.”\n\nQuestions and Reasonable Adjustments \nThese sessions will run online on Microsoft Teams. Please e-mail england.inclusion-events@nhs.net if you have any questions or to tell us how we can support you in participating in the sessions.
