SUMMARY:Phlebotomy/Venepuncture Training - Skelmersdale
DESCRIPTION:The aim of this phlebotomy training course is to teach learners how to safely take blood samples for tests or donation\, while keeping patients comfortable and following UK health and safety guidelines. The training is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience. \n*This training is delivered at a cost of £67.50 per place for Social Care employees. Before you book on the course\, please make sure that your employer has agreed to cover the cost as they will be billed. If you are unable to attend you must cancel your place as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours before the event. If you do not attend without prior cancellation or cancel within our 48 hours notice period you will be charged. \nPlease note that from 1st November 2025 the cost per place will increase to £105 in line with L&SC PCTH policy. In addition\, we will be introducing a minimum of 7 calendar days’ notice period for cancellations. \n\nLocation\nSandy Lane Health Centre\, Sandy Lane\, Skelmersdale\, WN8 8LA.\n\nCourse Summary\nThis phlebotomy course is designed to teach you the skills and knowledge you need to succeed as a phlebotomist. You will gain hands-on practice using a lifelike arm simulator to master venepuncture techniques.\n\nThe course covers key topics such as anatomy\, blood collection methods\, patient interaction\, safety from bloodborne diseases\, and the ethical guidelines you must follow. You will receive a certificate post-training for your attendance. \nPlease note: This course contains a full practical (face-to-face) session. \n\nWill attending this training make me competent?\nIn short\, no. Caring for Care’s classroom-based assessments are designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace competency. Furthermore\, they will provide you with the relevant workbooks and competency proformas to be observed and signed off within the workplace according to your local policy.\n\nAttendance/Cancellation\nPlaces are limited\, if you have booked a place\, please ensure you attend.\n\n\nIf you are no longer able to attend\, please cancel your place as soon as possible. If you do not attend without prior cancellation (no later than 48 hours before the event)\, you may be charged.
