SUMMARY:Understanding Bloods
DESCRIPTION:COURSE OVERVIEW: \nIn the dynamic landscape of healthcare\, an understanding of blood tests is invaluable for non-clinicians. This course equips participants with the knowledge to navigate the complexities of blood tests\, fostering confidence and competence in interpreting results. \nMEDICAL NECESSITY: \nParticipants will delve into the medical reasons behind various blood tests\, exploring the diagnostic and monitoring purposes they serve. Understanding the rationale for specific tests empowers non-clinicians to appreciate the role of blood work in uncovering and managing a range of health conditions. From routine screenings to targeted assessments\, the course elucidates the diversity of tests employed in primary care. \nTHERAPEUTIC RANGES: \nA crucial aspect of the course is the exploration of therapeutic ranges. Participants will gain insights into the optimal levels of various blood components and the implications of deviations from these norms. Understanding therapeutic ranges is fundamental to recognizing when intervention or further investigation is warranted\, ensuring timely and effective patient care. \nPRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: \nThe course goes beyond theoretical knowledge\, incorporating real-world case studies and scenarios. Participants engage in practical exercises\, simulating the analysis of diverse blood test results. This hands-on approach enhances their ability to apply theoretical concepts to actual clinical situations. \nOUTCOME: \nUpon completion\, participants emerge with a heightened proficiency in understanding blood tests and results. This newfound expertise enables non-clinicians to contribute effectively to the collaborative healthcare environment\, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. \nAIMS \n\nClarification of terminology\nUnderstanding blood components\nMedical reasons behind the blood tests\nWhy the blood tests are important\n\nWHO SHOULD ATTEND? \nNon-Clinical Primary Care Staff \nWHAT DO I NEED? \n\nMS TEAMS (join on the app or online)\n\n\nPen/Paper\n\n\nPreferably a camera and mic to participate\n\nHOW LONG IS THE COURSE? \n3 hours (Virtual) \nHOW TO JOIN? \nYou will receive an email a couple of days prior to the event with all training materials and a link to join the MS Teams training session. \nBy signing up you agree for your information to be stored and shared by the Training hub\, with the Training Provider and with NHSE and ICB\, for the delivery of this training\, monitoring\, reporting and certification purposes only.
