DESCRIPTION:This online Primary Care Chaperone course is designed for non-clinical staff who may be asked to act as chaperones and require formal training in intimate examinations. \nAbout this course: \n\n\nGMC and CQC Aligned: This course meets strict standards set by the General Medical Council and Care Quality Commission\, ensuring you receive training that complies fully with healthcare regulations.\nCulturally Sensitive: We raise awareness of cultural diversity so chaperones can ensure all patients feel safe and respected\, regardless of background or identity.\nInteractive and Engaging: Delivered over three hours\, our training encourages conversation\, questions\, and sharing of real-life examples.\nFocused on Primary Care Settings: Unlike generic chaperone courses\, ours is specifically tailored for general practice staff.\nIn-Depth Understanding of Intimate Examinations: Learn to appreciate each patient’s unique preferences and vulnerabilities\, and become aware of unconscious biases that may affect patient comfort.\nSafeguarding and Reporting: Understand your role in safeguarding and how to report any concerns or complaints raised before\, during\, or after the examination.\n\n\n\nThis is an interactive session and you will be expected to interact. The cost is stated in the non funded ticket section \n\n\n\n\n\nA Safe Surgery can be any GP practice that commits to taking steps to tackle the barriers faced by many migrants in accessing healthcare. The Safe Surgeries network offers training\, support\, resources and expertise to the GP practices that are part of the network. \n\nWe invite all practices to attend\, even those accredited as Safe Surgeries. The invite is open to clinical and non-clinical practice staff. We would like to welcome as many practice staff as possible particularly those working on reception. \n\nThe aim of this training is:\n\nTo provide an understanding of entitlement to NHS Care in England\nTo understand the barriers faced by refugees and migrants when accessing healthcare\nTo share practical steps to create an equitable and welcoming GP Practice for everyone\nTo recognise how important all staff are in a person’s healthcare journey\n\nPlease contact safesurgeries@doctorsoftheworld.org.uk with any questions.
