This could include settings such as libraries\, gyms\, charity support services\, hairdressers\, and other public facing settings. Physical activity can help prevent or reduce health inequalities such as heart disease\, stroke\, and other long-term health conditions in line with the NHS CORE20PLUS5 framework and national Physical Activity Strategy. \n  \nAims of the Course \n  \nThe module supports anyone who is not a physical activity specialist by supplying high quality and evidence based physical activity training that develops knowledge\, skills and confidence to integrate relevant physical activity messages and interventions into everyday conversations. DESCRIPTION:Lancashire and South Cumbria Practice Nurse and AHP national and local update forums \nWe have set up 4 new style forums for 2026-2027.  Each forum will be 2 hours long and these have been arranged on PLT afternoons so that some locality staff will be able to join\, however\, any GPN or AHP from other localities can join any of the sessions. Each session will focus on one topic\, delivered by an expert in that field.   The session will be of an educational nature and there will be an opportunity to ‘ask the expert’ at the end of the session. \nThe remaining forum for 2025-2026 will be still be 45 minutes as follows: \n10th March 2026 –  13:30-14:15 – presentation by Hannah Goldsmith\, Senior Infection Control Nurse who will give a general IPC update on various topics:\n\nPrimary Care IPC Champions\nA brief slide on ANTT\nGloves off campaign\nSkin decontamination\, just a summary/clarification slide\nWinter IPC reminders\nFlu season\nNew IPC section on primary care intranet\n\n\nThis will be followed by an explanation of the new format to the forums going forward \nThe new forum dates are: \n7th July 13:30-15:30​ – Cancer early diagnosis session hosted by Jason Feavers with an opportunity to ask the expert! \n\n7th October 13:30-15:30​ – This session is hosted by Jeannie Hayhurst who is clinical lead for cardio vascular disease prevention she is going to talk about tobacco\, physical exercise\, diet\, blood pressure and pulse and the effects on long term conditions in particular CVD. SUMMARY:Lancashire and South Cumbria Local and National Nurse and AHP Quarterly Update Forums
DESCRIPTION:Lancashire and South Cumbria Practice Nurse and AHP national and local update forums \nWe have set up 4 new style forums for 2026-2027.  Each forum will be 2 hours long and these have been arranged on PLT afternoons so that some locality staff will be able to join\, however\, any GPN or AHP from other localities can join any of the sessions. Each session will focus on one topic\, delivered by an expert in that field.   The session will be of an educational nature and there will be an opportunity to ‘ask the expert’ at the end of the session. \nThe remaining forum for 2025-2026 will be still be 45 minutes as follows: \n10th March 2026 –  13:30-14:15 – presentation by Hannah Goldsmith\, Senior Infection Control Nurse who will give a general IPC update on various topics:\n\nPrimary Care IPC Champions\nA brief slide on ANTT\nGloves off campaign\nSkin decontamination\, just a summary/clarification slide\nWinter IPC reminders\nFlu season\nNew IPC section on primary care intranet\n\n\nThis will be followed by an explanation of the new format to the forums going forward \nThe new forum dates are: \n7th July 13:30-15:30​ – Cancer early diagnosis session hosted by Jason Feavers with an opportunity to ask the expert! \n\n7th October 13:30-15:30​ – This session is hosted by Jeannie Hayhurst who is clinical lead for cardio vascular disease prevention she is going to talk about tobacco\, physical exercise\, diet\, blood pressure and pulse and the effects on long term conditions in particular CVD.
