It allows nurses to share best practice and innovation across the system\, collectively raise any nurse issues and provides peer support. \n\nAs part of the General Practice Nurse Programme in Lancashire and South Cumbria\, we have funding for a Lead Nurse in Primary Care Networks to join our collaborative. The collaborative is continuing the work from the GPN10PP to collectively work together to support all nurses in Primary Care.

This could include settings such as libraries\, gyms\, charity support services\, hairdressers\, and other public facing settings. DESCRIPTION:Clinical Skills Practice Workshop for Primary Care staff in Lancashire and South Cumbria – NEW SESSION 90 MINUTES \nAvailable throughout the year at different locations you will be able to experience a hands on approach with the support of a clinical educator! \nLocation: Room SF89\, Darwen Health Centre\, James St W\, Darwen BB3 1PY \nWe have added some extra skills onto our sessions to broaden the experience on attending! \nTopics covered in the sessions are:\n\n\nManual blood pressures plus looking at normal parameters and targets\nInjection Technique\nVenepuncture\nInhaler technique\nPeak flow technique\nBlood oxygen levels using a pulse oximeter.\n\n\nThe workshops welcome General Practice Nurses\, Health Care Assistants\, Nursing Associates\, Trainee Nursing Associates\, Advanced Nurse Practitioners\, Student Nurses\, Student Nurse Paramedics\, Physician Associates… anyone with a clinical role within Primary Care that is already trained in the topics above. \n\nNew to practice and want to have some hands-on experience with a mannequin to gain skills and confidence or if you are an experienced practitioner and want to refresh your skills then this is the workshop for you! \n\nWe have equipment available in the workshops to enable you to practice your skills and get hands-on experience with the support of a friendly clinical educator plus a practical handbook to guide you through. \n\n\nPlease note that these workshops are not a formal training session and the purpose is to support delegates in building on knowledge and skills already learnt from previous formal training.\n\n\nDelegates must join the session from the start time and leave once they feel they have gained enough from the workshop: there is no requirement to stay for the full 90 mins. In addition\, delegates may attend to access one of the pieces of equipment or all of them! This is a great opportunity to get hands-on and have a play with the mannequins to help improve your practice!\n\nYou will receive a certificate post-training for your attendance. DESCRIPTION:Spirometry Skills Practice Workshop for Primary Care staff in Lancashire and South Cumbria \nAvailable throughout the year at Room SF89\, Darwen Health Centre\, James St W\, Darwen BB3 1PY \nThe session will include verification of the spirometer using a 3 litre syringe and an opportunity to practice performing spirometry with an experienced clinical educator. \nThe workshops welcome General Practice Nurses\, Health Care Assistants\, Nursing Associates\, Trainee Nursing Associates\, Advanced Nurse Practitioners\, Student Nurses\, Student Nurse Paramedics\, Physician Associates… anyone with a clinical role within Primary Care that is already trained in spirometry \nPLEASE BRING A DISPOSIBLE MOUTHPIECE TO THE SESSION \nPart of the training involves active participation including performing spirometry. To take part in this you will need to complete the following consultation form on the day.
