SUMMARY:Ovarian Cancer - Early Diagnosis
DESCRIPTION:This session will be delivered by representative from Ovacome\, Ovarian Cancer Charity\, alongside Karina Bidiss and Victoria Clare and is suitable for GPNs\nOvarian cancer is predominantly diagnosed at late stage in the UK and we have some of the poorest survival outcomes in Europe.  Over 40% of women were diagnosed through presenting at A&E and many myths exist around diagnosis and symptoms.  This training sessions will cover: \n\n\nSigns and symptoms\nInformation about the disease that you need to know\nDiagnosis\, hereditary risk\nDebunking myths\nWhat treatment pathways follow diagnosis\nAvailable support for you and patients\nThe local picture – what we know and what we want to see locally\nGive you resources and information to pass on to your patients and their family members\nResources for patients who may face barriers to diagnosis (such as living in poverty\, having low literacy or English as a second language)\n\n\nThis is an interactive session and you will be expected to interact. DESCRIPTION:Find out what Smokefree Lancashire is all about and how you can help spread the word to your own clients and service users\n\n\n\nThe health of Lancashire is super important. Can you be part of the movement to encourage smokers to think about stopping their addiction and habit? If you work or volunteer in Lancashire\, then yes you can! (Lancashire County Council footprint does not include Blackburn with Darwen or Blackpool). We are looking forward to you joining us on our quest to bring down the prevalance of smokers in our population. \nSmokefree Lancashire have created a free training resource for you\, so you can raise awareness around our service and how your service users can access our service. \nOnce we have your confirmed booking\, you will be sent a calendar booking link via email with instructions on how to join the online training event \nUpon completion of the training\, all attendees will also be provided with an electronic attendance certificate. \nHosted by Smokefree Lancashire \nThe training will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams and is designed to be easily accessible\, providing all professionals with some foundational knowledge around smoking and our service. It is an interactive Powerpoint presentation. It includes watching a video\, a quiz and information giving. \n\n\n
