DESCRIPTION:This is a 3 hour Teams session with Tracy Kirk for general practice staff. \nThese sessions are fully funded for staff working in General Practice in Lancashire and South Cumbria. If you work outside of this area\, please select a ‘Non funded ticket’ option. \nAll bookings are subject to a 14-day cancellation policy. Please see the listing for details of the cancellation policy and cancellation fees. \nPlease note there is pre-reading to complete prior to each session which will take approximately 3 hours and post session there will be some e-learning to complete which will take between 6 and 10 hours. Please ensure you book time to complete this prior to the session. DESCRIPTION:The Immunisation and Vaccination Update provides an annual update of current practice in relation to the immunisation schedules in primary care using PHE guidance.\nThis training includes NHS Travel Vaccines given for free under the Crown Scheme and does not include travel vaccines outside this schedule\nThis course is not suitable as foundation training and is only an update and does not cover anaphylaxis or basic life support. This must be completed separately.\nThis course is for Clinical Experienced Vaccinators\, and those who have already been vaccinating and does not include non-clinical Covid only Vaccinators.\n\n\nThe course is designed around the updated National Minimum Standards and the competency assessment tool.\nPlease see the link below for a copy of the competency assessment tool for registered practitioners: https://www.rcn.org.uk/professional-development/publications/pdf-006943\n\nThis is an interactive session and you will be expected to interact. SUMMARY:Clinical Skills Practice Workshop - Darwen
DESCRIPTION:Available throughout the year at different locations you will be able to experience a hands on approach with the support of a clinical educator! \nLocation: Room SF89\, Darwen Health Centre\, James St W\, Darwen BB3. \nWe have added some extra skills onto our sessions to broaden your experience. \n\n\nTopics covered in the sessions are:\n\nPractice taking a smear\nManual blood pressures plus looking at normal parameters and targets\nInjection Technique\nVenepuncture\nInhaler technique\nPeak flow technique\nBlood oxygen levels using a pulse oximeter.\n\n\n\nThe workshops welcome General Practice Nurses\, Health Care Assistants\, Nursing Associates\, Trainee Nursing Associates\, Advanced Nurse Practitioners\, Student Nurses\, Student Nurse Paramedics\, Physician Associates… anyone with a clinical role within Primary Care that is already trained in the topics above. \n\nNew to practice and want to have some hands-on experience with a mannequin to gain skills and confidence or if you are an experienced practitioner and want to refresh your skills then this is the workshop for you!\n\nWe have equipment available in the workshops to enable you to practice your skills and get hands-on experience with the support of a friendly clinical educator plus a practical handbook to guide you through. \n\n\nPlease note that these workshops are not a formal training session and the purpose is to support delegates in building on knowledge and skills already learnt from previous formal training.\n\n\nDelegates must join the session from the start time and leave once they feel they have gained enough from the workshop: there is no requirement to stay for the full 3 hours. In addition\, delegates may attend to access one of the pieces of equipment or all of them!
